Linn’s Latest Release - Klimax Radikal & Keel SE

Linn’s latest flagship upgrades - Klimax Radikal and Keel SE

Linn has launched two new Klimax-level upgrades for the Sondek LP12: the new and improved reference power supply - Klimax Radikal, and an all-new flagship sub-chassis - Keel SE.

Klimax Radikal

Linn’s Klimax Radikal - Silver or Black Anodised Finishes

Linn's reference motor control, motor, and power supply for the Sondek LP12.

Key Highlights:

  • New machined chassis - enhanced electrical and mechanical isolation

  • New, bespoke Utopik power supply - separate, dedicated output voltage rails that are self-regulating and isolated, improving motor circuitry and Urika/II phonostage for better, consistent power

The Klimax Radikal brings out even more from your music, featuring hyper-accurate speed management technology that generates sustained, uniform rotation closer - the closest to 33 1/3 rpm.

Critical to this performance is the Utopic power supply, it possesses separate, dedicated output voltage rails for each of the Radikal's two specialisted tasks: controlling the motor and providing power to the Urika internal phono stages.

These output rails are separately self-regulating; any sudden, significant draws in power from the motor or controller don't affect the rails supplying Urika, and vice versa. The independence of these rails ensures consistency and quality of power supplied to both the motor and phono stage, improving the performance of each.

This release also features new, machined casework that weighs in at nearly 14kg, machined from three pieces of solid aluminium, and mounted on stainless-steel feet - ensuring enhanced mechanical isolation.

Keel SE

Linn’s Keel SE Sub-Chassis

Flagship machined sub-chassis and armboard for the Sondek LP12.

Key Highlights:

  • Use of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to design this new Keel SE

  • 300% stiffer than the original Keel - means that any vibrations that travel through are reduced

  • Much better-balanced centre of mass, reduces inertia and acoustic isolation

  • Separate arm collar vs the integrated arm collar, which results in a much smoother, straighter top surface.

The super evolution of Linn's highest-performance LP12 sub-chassis.

With the Keel SE, Linn's engineers have comprehensively improved upon the original, including making the sub-chassis is 300% stiffer than the original using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) - improving dissipation of vibrations and reduce tracking distortion.

Thanks to this revolutionary technology, Linn has been able to evaluate all limitations of previous sub-chassis designs and break free from them, using a combination of cutting-edge virtual prototyping and their own enhanced in-house machining capabilities.

The outcome is a new and visibly improved machined sub-chassis with superior stiffness, optimised resonant behaviour and ideal distribution of mass.
