The original Te Kaitora moving coil cartridge was the result of collaboration between Dynavector Japan and Dynavector New Zealand. The Te Kaitora allowed analogue enthusiasts to embark on a voyage of discovery to the outer limits of vinyl reproduction.

The improved Te Kaitora Rua phono cartridge continues the journey by incorporating many of the newest features of its Dynavector stable-mates, the XV-1s and XX-2. The Te Kaitora Rua phono cartridge has even managed to improve on the original's silk-like treble and openness.

Note: Te Kaitora means "The Discoverer" in the language of the NZ Maori people, Rua, is “the second version”.

Drawing on Dynavector's ‘dispersion theory’ that produced the original world first KARAT series Dynavector are indeed proud to announce the entirely new 17DX KARAT Diamond phono cartridge. As in the past KARAT series, the frequency response of the new KARAT 17DX at 20 to 20,000 Hz is ruler flat providing an extremely accurate groove tracking ability. However, several new features will ensure that the new 17DX phono cartridge will shortly gain the same legendary status and soon surpass its predecessors.

The rationale for the new KARAT 17DX phono cartridge was to significantly improve upon the now legendary original KARAT moving coil cartridge series. After exhaustive listening and technical research, the decision was made to incorporate a body machined from solid brass, Samarium-cobalt magnets for lower magnetic resistance, unmatched coil winding techniques, the incredible 1.7mm long cantilever with Micro Ridge stylus all combining in a brand-new KARAT 17DX phono cartridge that will delight the listener, providing clear and articulate reproduction of analog recordings without a hint of harshness in the high frequency range.

The DV 20X2A phono cartridge is an entry-level model in the Dynavector MC cartridge series. Sharing the same base structure as the higher-end XX-2A and Te Kaitora Rua models, it features a solid aluminium alloy body, a hard aluminium cantilever, and a Micro-Ridge stylus tip.

The DV 20X2A is available in two types, allowing selection based on system compatibility. The 20X2A-L (low output model) delivers a standard MC cartridge output, while the 20X2A-H (high output model) is an MC cartridge designed to suit most MM inputs.

This cartridge is well suited for listeners seeking to explore the full potential of MC sound, as well as those looking to experience MC performance without the complexity of using an MC step-up transformer.

The high output 20X2A-H achieves an output voltage of 2.8mV, made possible by Dynavector’s renowned coil winding technology. By winding ultra-fine wire multiple times around the coil, the cartridge attains an output level equivalent to that of an MM cartridge. This allows connection directly to an MM phono input without requiring a head amplifier or step-up transformer.

The low output 20X2A-L produces a 0.3mV output voltage and uses the same PCOCC coil wire found in Dynavector's higher-end models. It is recommended for use with head amplifiers or MC step-up transformers that support a load impedance of 30 ohms or higher, ensuring compatibility with most such devices.

The Dynavector 10X series is a high output Moving Coil (MC) Cartridge that has been acclaimed worldwide since its release in 1978, amazing the audio industry by unleashing something that was long considered a challenge for MC cartridges.

In both 1978 and 1981, the 10X series was honoured the Design and Engineering Award at Chicago CES (Consumer's Electronics Show) and has continued to captivate audiophiles around the world with its distinctive red body.

Since its debut, the 10X series has continuously evolved to deliver a better experience for Dynavector's users. In 2003, a solid aluminium head block was introduced for increased rigidity providing a better platform to secure with the headshell. In 2018, the 10X5 MkII replaced the traditional elliptical stylus tip with a "Shibata III" line contact stylus improving tracking ability.

Now, in 2025, the 10X series reaches new heights of performance with a newly developed magnetic circuit that incorporates Dynavector's proprietary "Special Magnetic Annealing" technology. The new 10XA model delivers exceptionally smooth and articulate analogue playback, offering a listening experience that goes far beyond what is expected from an entry-level cartridge.
